Alžběta Šváblová was a PhD Candidate at the Bayreuth International Graduate School of African Studies (BIGSAS). She finished her PhD on 'A Tortuous Way Forward: Peacebuilding Process and Actor Interaction in Postwar Liberia' in May 2020. Alžběta now works as an adjunct lecturer for the Sociology of Africa Chair Group and is an affiliated researcher.

Her dissertation focused on the postwar reconstruction in Liberia, examining the interaction of the government of Liberia, Liberian civil society, and international actors against the backdrop of specific institutions, where these actors meet.

She holds an MA in International Relations from the Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. Her research interests lie at the intersection of political sociology and international relations. Alžběta has been teaching classes on development theories, post-conflict contexts, as well as research methodology.
