Dr. Adam Sandor hat einen Doktortitel in Politikwissenschaft von der Universität Ottawa. Seine Forschungsarbeiten befassen sich mit dem Umgang mit nicht-traditionellen Sicherheitsbedrohungen wie Terrorismus, Drogenhandel, Geldwäsche und gewalttätigem Extremismus in Afrika. In jüngerer Zeit hat er sich mit der Politik der Rebellen-Governance in der Sahelzone befasst. Er hat in mehreren führenden akademischen Fachzeitschriften wie International Affairs, Security Dialogue, Journal of Global Security Studies, Civil Wars und Journal of Intervention and Statebuilding veröffentlicht. In den letzten drei Jahren arbeitete Dr. Sandor als Forschungsleiter von Adam Smith International und unterstützte die Stabilisierungsaktivitäten des Conflict, Security and Stability Fund des Vereinigten Königreichs in Zentral- und Nordost-Mali. Er hat für das kanadische Ministerium für öffentliche Sicherheit, das Sicherheitsministerium des Königlichen Königreichs der Niederlande, die britische Border Force und das Sektorkommando Ost der Multidimensionalen Integrierten Stabilisierungsmission der Vereinten Nationen in Mali (MINUSMA) Expertenaussagen gemacht. Adams Forschungsarbeit befasst sich derzeit mit der Politik der Süd-Süd-Kooperation bei transnationalen Sicherheitsinitiativen und Stabilisierungseinsätzen auf dem Kontinent, mit denen versucht wird, dem Aufstieg bewaffneter islamistischer Aufstände entgegenzuwirken.
