In the first session of the Global Sociology and Politics Colloquium, Yih-Jye Hwang from the Leiden University will speak about Victimized State and Visionary Leader? Questioning China’s Approach to Human Security in Africa.

Yih-Jye Hwang (PhD, Aberystwyth) is Assistant Professor of International Relations at Leiden University. His research focuses on culture and identity politics in East Asia, East Asian approaches to human security, China’s strategic and just war thinking, post-Western IR, post-structuralism, and theories of nationalism.
